DANVERS D. ALLEN SCHOLARSHIP

Danvers D. Allen Scholarship

The Danvers D. Allen Annual Soccer Scholarship

Honoring a Legacy of Leadership and Heart

The Danvers D. Allen Annual Soccer Scholarship was established to honor the memory of a man whose passion for the game was only matched by his commitment to lifting others up. As the father of Richmon Benevolent Foundation (RBF) founder Ayana Campbell, Danvers’ life work serves as the blueprint for our mission to "Level the Playing Field". Danvers believed that sports could be a catalyst for growth, character, and community.

Born in Jamaica, Danvers brought the vibrant spirit and technical soul of Caribbean soccer to every pitch he stepped on. His own journey in the sport was marked by excellence at every level; a formidable athlete, he played competitive soccer at the collegiate level and continued his career into the minor leagues. This background gave him a professional-grade understanding of the discipline and grit required to succeed, which he later instilled in his players.

His commitment to youth development was boundless. Alongside his peers, he founded the International Soccer Academy in North Carolina, a youth summer camp that served countless athletes over the years. When he wasn't coaching his own teams across the country and around the world to compete at the highest levels, he was on the field ensuring every child had the opportunity to grow. Though he passed away in 1999, his impact remains a living force; many of the boys he coached are now parents themselves, with several going on to play professionally and becoming accomplished corporate leaders. They still remember the profound impact he made on their lives and continue to pay it forward.

Most importantly, Danvers passed his profound love of the game and his dedication to service down to the next generation. This scholarship aims to bridge the gap for young athletes who possess the drive and talent but lack the financial means to participate in elite travel soccer. We believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of a child's dream.

Our Goal: Fall 2026 We are currently accepting donations to this fund with the vision of awarding our first scholarship in Fall 2026 for the start of the new travel season. By investing in these scholars, we are nurturing the next generation of leaders who will carry forward the legacy of heart and excellence that Danvers personified.
